Opportunity regulatory impact

See a FAR or DFARS change only when checked opportunity material cites the changed section.

FedScope does not ask you to monitor a generic FAR or DFARS feed. It checks the official opportunity material used by a Growth Decision and shows a regulatory impact only when that material directly cites a section in the current change corpus.

What creates an impact

An impact needs all three:

  1. A checked official SAM.gov opportunity source, attachment, or amendment.
  2. An exact citation such as FAR 52.204-21, DFARS 252.204-7012, or 48 CFR 9.104-1.
  3. That exact section in an official FAR or DFARS publication captured by FedScope.

Agency, NAICS, contract type, set-aside, and topic keywords do not create a match. An attachment that could not be checked does not create one either.

What you see

The Growth Decision shows the cited section, the publication and effective date when available, the solicitation excerpt that caused the match, and links to both the change detail and current official regulation. When there is no direct match, no regulatory block appears.

A direct match is evidence, not a legal conclusion

The citation explains why FedScope connected the items. It does not prove that a change governs the solicitation, award, or contract. Confirm the current solicitation and regulation with the contracting officer or counsel before relying on it.

Source freshness

FedScope checks the official GSA FAR and DFARS source repositories every six hours. If their source heads have not changed, no new content is published. When they do change, FedScope rebuilds and validates the canonical section corpus before opportunity matching uses it.

The public changes pages remain available as source detail for a matched impact. They are not a customer task list, alert feed, or claim that every change matters to every business.

Coverage limits

  • Coverage is FAR and DFARS source text, not agency deviations, policy memoranda, or every proposed rule.
  • Only checked, text-readable official opportunity material participates.
  • Older changes outside the retained corpus will not create a match.
  • Rule text and solicitation instructions can change. Always confirm at the official source.
